Helvellyn Sunrise : An Unforgettable Challenge!

A guided night hike to one of the Lake District’s most iconic summits, timed to reach the top as the sun rises. Participants walk through the darkness with head torches, experience the fells coming to life around them, and celebrate together at first light.

The experience:

• Meet in the early hours at Swirls Car Park, Thirlmere
• Guided ascent through the night on a clear mountain path (non-scrambling)
• 708m / 2322ft ascent
• Reach Helvellyn summit plateau at sunrise
• Celebrate together at the summit.
• Descend together, finishing in the morning
• Total duration: typically 4–6 hours (route/season dependent)
